Course Settings

 

The Settings tab within a course allows you to adjust the layout of the course page, to better customize things for yourself and your students. From this page you can decide:

  • Which tabs display to instructors and students
  • What name you would like to assign to each tab
  • The order in which these tabs display
  • The default landing tab for users upon entering the course

This page includes both the Instructor Course Pages and Student Course Pages sections that will allow you to make these changes for each persona.

Deciding Which Tabs To Make Visible

You can hide or display a tab by:

  1. On the Settings tab, click the Edit button within either the Instructor Course Pages or Student Course Pages section depending on which persona you would like to customize the display for.
  2. Check the Is Visible? checkbox next to each tab you would like to display to users or uncheck the box to hide the tab from users.
  3. Click the Save button.

Renaming a Tab

You can rename a tab by: 

  1. On the Settings tab, click the Edit button within either the Instructor Course Pages or Student Course Pages section depending on which persona you would like to customize the display for.
  2. Click on the name of the tab in the Title text field and enter a new name.
  3. Click the Save button directly below the new title of the tab.
  4. Click the Save button at the bottom of the section depending on which persona you are customizing.

Changing The Order Tabs Are Displayed

You can change the order in which tabs are displayed by:

  1. On the Settings tab, click the Edit button within either the Instructor Course Pages or Student Course Pages section depending on which persona you would like to customize the display for.
  2. Click the Screenshot_at_Apr_22_16-21-04.png icon on the left side of a tab and either drag up or down to change the order of the tabs.
  3. Click the Save button.

Setting a Default Landing Page

You can change the order in which tabs are displayed by:

  1. On the Settings tab, click the Edit button within either the Instructor Course Pages or Student Course Pages section depending on which persona you would like to customize the display for.
  2. Check the Is Default? checkbox next to the tab you would like to set as the default landing page for those users.
  3. Click the Save button.

Note: Both the Instructor and Student persona may only have one default landing page set each at a time.
