Editing Assignments

Assignments can be updated from the Assignment Library as long as the assignment is set to the "Draft" status. You can access the Assignment Library to edit such assignments by selecting “Assignment Library” from the Curriculum drop-down in the left-hand navigation menu. In order to update an assignment, the assignment must not be assigned to any students nor can it be attached to a course.

If the assignment is assigned to students, the first step is to unassign the assignment. To do so:

  1. Click the Assignments tab on the Course page.
  2. Click the ellipsis icon next to the assignment you wish to unassign (do so next to the module if the assignment is within a module).
  3. Select "Unassign Assignment" ("Unassign Module" if the assignment is within a module).
  4. Click the Yes button.

  2. Click the ellipsis icon next to the assignment you wish to remove from the course. Ensure the assignment is not assigned.
  3. Select "Remove Assignment".

After the assignment has been unassigned and removed from the course, the assignment can be updated. To do so, open the assignment from the assignment library and select "Draft" in the Status drop-down. After setting the assignment to "Draft", you can begin updating the assignment.

Caution: Assignments can only be updated by the instructor who owns the assignment (by default this is the instructor who created the assignment).
