Creating a Performance Scale

To create a performance scale:

  1. From within Salesforce, click the + tab and select the Performance Scales link. The Performance Scales screen is displayed.


  2. Click the New button. The New Performance Scale screen is displayed.


  3. In the Title field, type a name for the performance scale.
  4. Check the Institutional Scale checkbox.
  5. Click the Save button. The Performance Scale screen is displayed.
  6. Click the New Performance Level button. The New Performance Level screen is displayed.

  7. Add at least one pivotal and one non-pivotal Performance Level record:
    1. Populate the Text Value and Numeric Value fields.
    2. If this performance level represents a pivotal score on the performance score, enable the Pivotal checkbox. Otherwise, disable the Pivotal checkbox.
    3. Click the Save button.
  8. Go to the Performance Scale record created above and copy the ID of the record from the URL bar. For example, if your URL displays:
    https://lrmsetupdocmotivis.my.salesforce.com/a0h61000000f1dv, copy what comes after “.salesforce.com/”, which in this example is “a0h61000000f1dv”.
  9. Select Setup > Develop > Custom Settings. The Custom Settings screen is displayed.

  10. Click the Manage link to the left of the "LRM Settings" label.
  11. Click the Edit button.
  12. Paste the ID (copied in step 8) into the Gradebook Performance Scale field.
  13. Click the Save button.
