How Does Motivis Learning Community differ from SalesForce Communities?
Motivis Learning Community differs from the out-of-the-box Communities because all out-of-the-box Communities require configuration and design, the most basic way Motivis Learning Community differs is that is pre-configured* for use in a Customer Community. In fact, it can be as-is, if a school simply wants to provide an online collaboration space for its students, alumni or other constituent groups.
Please note: Configuration is still required to implement Motivis Learning Community (build profile fields, create themes & tags, upload logos, etc).
Can we have multiple communities?
Currently, Motivis Learning Community can be configured for only one Salesforce community at a time. If you have other Salesforce communities active that are not using Motivis Learning Community they should continue to work as-is.
If you require segmentation within Motivis Learning Community, we can accomplish this using roles and groups.
How is Motivis Learning Community customized?
Configuration of Motivis products is done through native Salesforce. In some cases, we rely on Salesforce’s declarative administrative tools (object, field, profile configuration). In other cases, we use custom settings or custom metadata types to control options in the product. There is some configuration that relies on data entry to certain objects. We recommend configuration of the Motivis products be done by a Salesforce administrator who has experience with these tools.
