From the Home tab within a course, you can enter an overall course description and communicate with students.
Home posts can include text, file uploads, hyperlinks, or polls.
If there are any posts that you would like to prevent from being lost in the feed, you can choose to place these at the top of the feed. This can be accomplished by clicking the ellipsis icon next to your post and selecting "Stick to Top".
A pop-up is displayed which allows you to set how long you would like the post to remain at the top of the feed. Simply enter a date in each of the Date fields to determine how long the post will remain at the top and click the Save button. You can remove a post from the top at any time by clicking the ellipsis icon next to your post and selecting "Unstick".
The About Course section can include text and should be treated as a way to provide students within the course with an overall course description.
To edit the course description:
- Click the About Course text box in the top right corner.
- Type your course description (leave blank if you do not want to leave an announcement).
- Click the Save button.
Your description displays on the Home tab for all students enrolled in the course.
The Pinned Items section stores any files that you have posted and pinned to the feed. These are important files that you don't want to get lost in the feed.
To pin files:
- Click the ellipsis icon next to your file.
- Select "Pin File".
You can always unpin files by:
- Click the drop-down arrow next to a file in the Pinned Items section.
- Select "Unpin File".
