Creating a Course

A course record holds together the collection of Competencies, Assignments, and/or Modules so that students can experience a traditional course based delivery.

Create a Course - Master

  • System Administrator Currently has a “Courses” tab available for manual entry until the user interface is available, Navigate to “All Tabs” or the + button available at the end of the tabs within the Salesforce System.
  • Hit “New” to create a new course record, and select Course Master record type for creating your first course. 
  • Populate the Course Number, course number, course title, and Subject fields at a minimum and hit save.


Create a Course - Version

  • System Administrator Currently has a “Courses” tab available for manual entry until the user interface is available, Navigate to “All Tabs” or the + button available at the end of the tabs within the Salesforce System.
  • Hit “New” to create a new course record, and select Course Version record type for creating your first course.
  • Populate the Master Course, Course Number, course number, course title, and Subject fields at a minimum and hit save. 


The version of the Master that was created will need to be selected as the “Active Course” on the master record.
