Creating a Course

A Course record serves as the parent record to Academic Offering records (offering of a course during a session). The Course record utilizes two record types "Course Master" (parent) and "Version" (child). Create a Course Master for all courses that your institution offers and a Course Version to version on those courses. To create these records:

Creating a Course Master

  1. From within Salesforce, click the Courses tab. If you do not have a Courses tab, click the + tab and then click the Courses link. The Courses Home page is displayed.
  2. Click the New button.
  3. Select the "Course Master" record type from the Record Type of new record picklist and click Continue.
  4. Populate the following fields:
    • Course Title
    • Course Code
    • Subject
    • Course Number
